Lentils and grains stew

A healthy and nutritious stew your dog will love!
A healthy addition to your dogs dry food, you can make in big batches and freeze.
Lentil and grain stew for dogs:
A mixture of lentils and grains - soak for one to 10 hours
½ cup brown lentils
½ cup orange lentils
½ cup buckwheat
½ cup quinoa
½ cup brown rice
1.5 cups white cabbage cut into cubes
1 sweet potato cut into cubes
1 carrot cut into cubes
½ teaspoon of turmeric
1 teaspoon dried oregano
About 6 glasses of water
¼ cup chia seeds*
¼ cup brewer's yeast
2 tablespoons of olive oil
*Dogs have a preference for chia seeds over flax seeds.
Wash and drain the lentils and grains after they have been soaked, put in the pot together with the cabbage, sweet potato, carrot, turmeric and oregano, cover everything with water with about 2 centimeters higher (about 6 cups of water), bring to a boil.
After boiling, lower the heat and cook partially covered for about 30-40 minutes until softened, and stir occasionally.
When the stew is soft, remove from heat, let cool and add chia seeds, brewer's yeast and olive oil.
*The recommended daily amount of cooked food for a dog is about 2-3 percent of its body weight, that is, if the dog weighs 25 kilos, bring him 625 grams (a cup of the fresh food weighs about 210 grams). *If most of the diet is based on homemade food, consult a veterinarian, and use a nutritional supplement.
